One more day until we leave for our Road Trip!!
Today is the day for packing! Yes, I could've started earlier, but I was enjoying my couple days of not working before taking a vacation. Lots of chores - laundry, cleaning the house, all those things that we don't have time to do while working. Then of course came the relaxing part, watching Netflix and researching Idaho and Wyoming. I have found lots of fun things to do through Pinterest. That's one of the resources I use when researching places to go or fun things to do while on location.
Then planning on what to pack. I found this cute checklist, cause I'm all about lists, and it's literally "pack this!"
It's supposed to be 89° on Monday when we arrive in Boise.
92° for Tuesday, 86° on Wednesday, with lows in the mid-60's.
In Jackson, Wyoming and Teton Village it's mid-70's. More do-able for me!
But the lows are in the 40's - brrrr - cold!
The thing with road trips is you can take whatever you think you need, right? I mean I have my main bag with my clothes in it. Then I have a bag for shoes & socks. You can never go wrong with bringing multiple pairs of shoes! I mean we'll be hiking, lounging, swimming, walking, talking, eating - you need several pairs to choose from. :) Then of course, I have a bag for sweatshirts and long sleeve shirts for later on in the trip. Just in case. I have a bag for swimwear and hiking clothes with a hat and a towel, because that's of course different than your normal wear. I have a small bag with miscellaneous toiletries - hand sanitizer, Kleenex, lip balm, sunscreen, Tylenol, band-aids, etc. I have my camera - extra batteries and a USB adapter - which has to have it's own bag! I haven't even began on snacks and drinks. They have to have their own bag too!
I also put in some playing cards and my Lonely Planet Travel book. I also got this "Anywhere Travel Guide." It's 75 cards for discovering the unexpected. It's just something silly to do or see while traveling. Not sure how much we'll use them, but you never know.
We will have an ice chest in the car so some snacks in there too like salami, maybe some veggies. Can't forget the good drinks - adult drinks. Yes I am talking about wine! My Mom, Carol, said she even brought real wine glasses! Because who wants to drink wine out of plastic! I mean if you have to, great, but real glasses! So excited!
So needless to say we will be packed full in the car. But not all of it has to come out of the car at each stop. That's the point, to have what you need when you need it. Because you never know, right? You have to prepare for everything. I even have headlamps for us, in case we do end up camping somewhere and need some night light! Or Carol wants to take a walk at night....nah, probably not. We gotta watch out for Moose and other animals roaming the earth. I don't think we'll do much hiking at night. :)
My Mom is on her way to my house in Aptos, CA today. We will get any last things we may need but of course we could get this on our drive too. It's not like we will be in a foreign country. Then tomorrow morning (have yet to decide a time), we will head out! Wohoo! Road Trip! 2017! Idaho! Wyoming! Here we come...
Safe travels. Enjoy!
