On our way to McCall

Picked up Marianne in Boise and had a nice breakfast at her house. 

 

Then got on the road to Emmett to see Linda(Marianne's daughter) and Cindy(Sally's daughter). They work together at a Hospice office. Had good conversation & lots of laughter.

Now we are on our way to New Plymouth to pick up Sally - which is Fred & Marianne's sister. New Plymouth is right near the border of Oregon. 

Now headed to Weiser (which they pronounce Weezer). There's a fiddle festival going on right now. Not sure if we'll be able to make it. 

We're going through some little towns, taking country roads to McCall. (Fruitland , Payette, Weiser, Midvale, Cambridge, Council)

The country-side is getting more green, lots of trees & wildflowers.

Made it to McCall & it was so nice! The lake is beautiful and what a great town. Had a nice lunch and then walked around downtown in the shops. Got a big ice cream at Ice Cream Alley. 

Supposedly Sharlie, the mysterious creature lives in McCall lake.
Kind of like the Lochness monster. :)

 Bistro 45 - we went here for lunch.

 

We drove along the left side of the lake, lots of cabins. We came across a part where the snow melt from the mountains was coming down into the lake. 

Leaving McCall we took the loop back the other direction where we saw the river along side our drive. It was fast rapids & lots of water! 

River is running fast!

We backtracked a little bit to take Sally home, then we came back home. We didn't get back till after 9pm. We then ate dinner all of us and by the time everyone was done and ready to go to bed it was about 10:30pm and it was still light outside!!
All of us were really tired, but I think we all had so much ice-tea throughout the day that we were wide awake. I didn't go to bed until after midnight. Plus the blogger app was giving me issues. 

Super fun day! A bit warm in McCall. It was really fun hanging with Mom's cousins, well I guess they are my cousin's too. The map below shows the loop we did. Start in Meridian, up to McCall and then down through Donnely, Cascade, and back to Meridian.
